iMagic Inventory Software 2.98
15.01.2011, 19:59
iMagic have released a new version of iMagic Inventory their award winning inventory software solution. While they've added in new features I like the way they have kept the basic operations of the system in front of you. Most software I've used doesn't get updated, while the ones that do start to become overgrown with complexities. But iMagic Inventory is different, it's still clean and simple. You want to create a new invoice, the button is right there, click bang new invoice. See inventory? Bang it's right there, no mucking around. It's clean, it's simple.

The big thing for me is the addition of the "Custom Inventory Fields", which basically just lets you add in extra information to any inventory item. This is great for people who need to add specific information for their items, which let's face it is just about everyone. Previously you had to make do with the existing fields or format your own information in the Notes field.

The new custom fields does away with all of that. Now if you need to enter in an ISBN number because you're selling bookings you can do just that. Or if it's critical to know the dimensions of an item you can add in height, width and depth. Another nice touch being able to make the field a selection, so you can choose from a predefined list.

You can now also choose which standard fields you want to include. So if you have no use for the Item Expiration date (does anyone other than people selling food?) then you can remove that. It makes the whole editing of inventory much more tidy.

There are a bundle more features in the latest update too, I don't have enough space to go into them all. But check out their What's New on their webpage for the full list.
