PictureGirdle 2.0
24.01.2011, 10:21
No more stumbling through complex graphics programs just to resize your images. PictureGirdle was written to make the task of resizing and re sampling images as easy as dragging and dropping them onto a button - many at once (batch processing). It also has the ability to convert jpg, bmp, gif, png, wmf, and tif images into any of these formats. Great for reducing the image size for insertion into email and also is handy for converting images into exact dimensions for web pages.

NEW Version 2.0

New Features:
-Faster processing
-Zoom windows for comparing input versus output (requires mouse with scroll)
-Remebers user settings
-Progress Bar
*Requires Microsoft .Net 2.0
PictureGirdle

I, like you, have searched the internet countless times for a simple utility to help me resize my digital images. I grew tired of all the painful steps sophisticated graphics editor programs make users go through when all I want to do is make my photos small enough to email. Open the file, crop the image, verify the output, select the output format, adjust the modifiable output options available that I don't understand, chose the save location, save...and then do it all over again for each image ..a very time consuming process. This is fine if you plan on manipulating your photos but most of the time, 99% of the time, I have have no need for this.

Motivated by the frustration of wasting too much time and not being able to find a solution on the net worth paying for, I set out to write my own utility with five objectives in mind:

1) Resize photos to whatever size I choose
2) Convert image formats (jpg, bmp, gif, tif, png - into any of these formats)
3) Save the file in the original location so I don't have to choose one
4) Resize many images simultaneously
5) Keep it simple

My solution: PictureGirdle
