DiskSpy Standard Edition 1.0
01.02.2011, 06:19
DiskSpy enables you to view every sector of any installed hard disk drive. It is irrelevant if this sectors are bootsectors, partition tables, file system entries or simple data files. Also areas protected by the operating system are accessible, since DiskSpy is completely operating-system-independent. All the sectors can also be edited in the Professional Edition. DiskSpy also enables you to search every sector for different character strings.

You can choose the desired display mode from various possibilities, big- and little-endian-display is possible as well as byte-, word- and doubleword-formatting.

Additionally DiskSpy has a comfortable scrolling function which scrolls smoothly over sector boundaries. Even the starting offset can be shifted to display the content of the window in a better readable form. Detailled information about the installed hard disks and their capabilities can also be displayed. Of course you can change to any sector or disk you want; if you change to a different disk DiskSpy remembers the previous position and if you change back, you're again at the same position. This allows you to easily compare data regardless of disk boundaries.
