I'd like to share my experience of using REFOG Personal Monitor. In our organization, we implement several methods of work-time management. Among them, a daily report, was our best achievement so far. Yet, I was unable to accurately calculate the time required by our employees to complete certain tasks. REFOG Personal Monitor looked promising and we gave it a try. Although the product can run in a stealth mode, we did notify our employees that we installed it. The employees and office managers were not upset about it. They obviously were not aware of the possibilities of REFOG Personal Monitor.
After a week I have got all the log files gathered by REFOG Personal Monitor and imported them into my spreadsheet. I grouped info by application title and calculated totals. Then I applied simple rules to filter the time spent on useless activities, etc. Then we held a meeting and talked about the problems that had been detected. This by itself has increased the effectiveness of our department by up to 20%. I have never used REFOG Personal Monitor since that time. There's no need to use it again. Simply the fact that all their time is tracked makes our employees work more effectively. That's my short story of how a few dollars invested in a small program can provide you significant results.
Here's how REFOG Personal Monitor acts. The product runs in a hidded mode. It isn't listed in the Windows Task Manager and can't be shut down by the user. REFOG Personal Monitor keeps all names of applications running, captions of windows opened, all user's typed keys and grabs screenshots. The application also monitors the Windows Clipboard and addresses of web sites opened in a Web browser. Logs can be automatically sent to an email or uploaded to an FTP folder on your server. The application can track how your employees use their work time and to save all data typed by them.
