FlexRestart is a utility that speeds up the process of Windows 95/98 restart. It intercepts reboot requests from specific programs and changes them to restart Windows only (see screen shot). Many programs change system configuration, adding or replacing shared DLLs or drivers, as a last step before system restart. However, in most cases it is sufficient to simply restart Windows, without going through BIOS initialization, memory testing, loading DOS, processing DOS configuration files and loading DOS drivers and resident programs. FlexRestart intercepts these unnecessary reboot requests and issues a quick restart instead. In the rare case that a program changes autoexec.bat or config.sys files, FlexRestart allows for a full reboot. This is a 30-day trial.
