The IPCOMServer is a Telnet server that connects the user directly to a chosen COM port. You connect IPCOMServer with a Telnet program or custom Telnet client. Using a Telnet program will result in a text interface with the attached RS-232 device. A Telnet client, on the other hand, will give the user a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and a more user-friendly experience. IPCOMServer was developed to enable a user to control custom-built electronic equipment, or to access remote-control test equipment such as TTC Fireberd 4000?, protocol analyzers, and so on.
