iPad sales, much to Apple’s content, continue to go strong. The Cupertino-based software developer announced that during the month of June it managed to sell yet another million iPads. This means that in 80 days since the device was rolled out to the market, a grand total of 3 million iPads were sold.
Initially the device, which was rolled out on the 3rd of April, was available only in the US. At the end of May international iPad sales kicked off in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. In July the iPad will be marketed in 9 more countries.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs had this to comment: “People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives. We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”
For those of you keeping track, Apple announced it sold its 1 millionth iPad only 28 days later after the device was launched. 59 days later it announced that it sold 2 million iPads. Now 80 days later Apple announced that it sold 3 million iPads. This means that Apple is selling 1 million iPads per month. If the company sold 3 million iPads in only 80 days, it means 37,500 iPads have been sold on average each day.
iPad sales are expected to keep going strong. According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster Apple will sell 7.5 million in 2010.
According to Apple there are more than 225,000 apps in the App Store that can be run on the iPad (the iPad should run most of them without a problem). There are more than 11,000 apps that have been especially developed to run on the iPad. This means the apps have been especially created to take advantage of the device’s large screen, high quality graphics and multi-touch user interface.
