Evidence that Flock is Quite Successful
The Beta version of Flock 3.0, the browser that focuses on the user’s social needs, has been around for one month now. It is the perfect occasion to take a look at the browser and see how it is doing. What better way to see how well Flock is doing than by looking at some figures. Here are just some figures, provided by Flock CEO, Shawn Hardin: more than 20,000 users took the Flock 3.0 Beta browser for a spin and they interacted with more than 100 million “activities” in the sidebar.

Another indication that Flock 3.0 is quite successful is the fact that other software developers are starting to show the browser some recognition. Privately owned UK-based software developer Piriform for example has just recently shown Flock some recognition.

If the name Piriform does not ring a bell, then perhaps the name CCleaner does. Piriform is the developer behind the CCleaner application, which I use religiously to remove useless files that needlessly take up space on my computer. Piriform has shown Flock some recognition by adding support for Flock 3.0 in its latest CCleaner version (that would be version v2.33.1184).

Switching focus away from the browser and onto the company, it must be said that Flock (the company) is getting some recognition as well – and from AlwaysOn no less.

“Flock has just been named one of AlwaysOn’s Global 250 top private companies. The AlwaysOn Global 250 represent the top emerging companies around the world that are demonstrating significant market traction and pursuing game-changing technologies in on-demand computing, digital media, and greentech. We were selected by an esteemed panel of experts including the AlwaysOn editorial team, along with partners at Manatt, Morgan Stanley, the Blackstone Group, KPMG, Silicon Valley Bank, Sonnenschein, and Bridge Bank, as well as industry experts across the globe. This group scoured the entrepreneurial community to identify the top 250 private companies that are taking old notions of doing things and forging solutions that will lead to industry shake-up and disruptive value-creation opportunities,” announced Shawn Hardin.
