The developers at Opera Software are already looking past the current stable version of Opera, which is Opera 10.63; they are looking to the future, to the upcoming Opera version 11, which will be released in the future and will feature extensions. At Up North Web, a global press day held by Opera Software in its hometown of Oslo, Norway, the developer confirmed the fact that Opera 11 will feature extensions.
Opera extensions will be similar to extensions in other browsers. They will be small pieces of software based on the W3C Widget specifications that will add new functionality to the browser. Developers will be able to easily create extensions using supported APIs and open standards like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. Users will be able to easily install extensions by clicking an extension and then clicking “Install” in the small window that will appear.

Title: Reloads and redirects can allow spoofing and cross site scripting Severity: Critical Description: Scripts on a page are supposed to be restricted so that they can only interact with other pages from the same domain and security context. Carefully timed reloads and redirects, when combined with appropriate caching, can cause scripts to execute in the wrong security context in Opera. This allows cross site scripting (XSS). In some cases, the address bar will also show the address of the target page. With minimal user interaction, this particular XSS vector may also be used to modify Opera's configuration, and this may in turn be used to execute arbitrary code on the computer.
