Facebook Focuses On Providing a Better Gaming Experience
According to popular social networking site Facebook, more than 200 million people play games on the site – please note that this represents the total number of monthly players. Facebook said it aims to offer the millions of people who play games on Facebook a pleasurable gaming experience. That is why Facebook launched “features to give you better control over the updates you see in your News Feed.”

For the non-players

In the past you could do two things when it came to application stories. You could hide an application story, or you could block it completely. The Facebook games team has tweaked things and from now game stories will post to your feed only if you are playing them.

“This means people who play games can post stories to their Wall without worrying about overwhelming their friends who aren't playing, and people who don't play games won't see irrelevant stories in their feed for which they have no context,” explained Product Manager on the Facebook games team, Jared Morgenstern.

“People who do not play games will only see stories when a particular game is added by a group of friends, instead of ongoing News Feed stories," he added. "These dedicated stories will show which friends are playing a game, making it easy to join them.”

For game players

Game players will be glad to know that the more active they are in a game, the more prominent the stories posted to their News Feed will be. And speaking of the News Feed, full stories appear in the feed – the game player will not miss when another fellow player needs help for example, or when another player shares an action.

Smarter bookmarks are now available on the homepage. These bookmarks automatically appear and reorder based on what the game player is playing. This means game players no longer have to individually bookmark apps; it also means players will more easily access their favorite apps.

Alongside the bookmarks, game players will now see a clearer, highlighted number for pending requests or tasks.

From the Games Dashboard players can manage their game activity, discover new games, and see who sent them a request. That’s right, there is now a requests section in the Games Dashboard. Check out the image below.
