Firefox Home Updated to Version 1.0.2
Firefox Home, the iPhone app that allows Phone users to access their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and the set of tabs from their most recent browsing session, has been updated to version 1.0.2. The interesting thing is that the latest version of Firefox Home comes with language support for a grand total of 16 languages. Firefox Home now provides support for French German, Spanish and Japanese and several other languages. A complete list of languages Firefox Home supports is available here.

A second interesting thing about Firefox Home 1.0.2 comes with a savvier URL Search Bar. Let’s say you want to visit a website that is not in the bookmarks, nor is it in your history. You remember the site’s URL, but you don’t remember the full URL. As long as you remember a part of the URL, you should be fine – the URL Search Bar will help you find the site you’re looking for. Just type the part you remember and Firefox Home will do the rest.

A third interesting thing about Firefox Home 1.0.2 is that it provides support for custom servers. Advanced users can now set up Firefox Home to connect to their own custom Firefox Sync servers.

If you are just now finding out about Firefox Home, here are the bits I thing you might be interested in. First, let me explain to you how this iPhone app works:
- If you don’t have Firefox Sync, you need to get the add-on and install it on your desktop. After you do so you will be asked to set up an account (it is a simple process that I’m sure will go along smoothly).
- Get the Firefox Home app and launch it on your iPhone or iPod touch (the app is free). You’ll be prompted to enter your Firefox Sync account info. Enter your username, password and Secret Phrase and tap “Done.”

Now a bit of history. Back in May the Mozilla Foundation announced that it is working on a Firefox Sync-based application for the Apple-developed iPhone. As Mozilla explained at the time, the iPhone app (called Firefox Home because it is “your home on the Web”) would allow iPhone users to access their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and the set of tabs from their most recent browsing session. After announcing the app, Mozilla submitted it to the App Store – and 15 days later Apple welcomed the app in the App Store.
