Friendly Reminder: Game On 2010 Submissions Closed
Last week I was telling you, reminding you to be more precise, that if you want to take part in the Game On 2010 competition, you have less than a week to submit your game. I am now reminding you that you can no longer submit your game because the submissions are closed. All entries had to be submitted by January 11th, 2011. If you did not manage to submit your game, I feel for you. You lost your chance at winning some pretty interesting prizes.

The Game On 2010 competition was launched as a means to kick off the Mozilla Labs Gaming Initiative. It is an international competition open to developers from all over the world who want to create complex and not so complex games with Open Web technologies and thus have a chance at winning one of the great prizes Mozilla will give out.

As you may remember, early this September the Mozilla Foundation announced the launch of a new initiative called Mozilla Labs Gaming, an initiative that focuses on games developed, delivered and played on the Open Web and the browser. As Mozilla explained at the time, the initiative will focus on Open Web Technologies such as Open Video, audio, WebGL, touch events, device orientation, geo location, and any other free, open-source tool that works across platforms and modern web browsers.
The next important date for participants in the Game On 2010 competition is the 31st of January when the winners will be announced. Today, the 12th of January is an important date for regular users as they will get to see the entries and vote for the community favorite.
