Developed by Google Labs, Gesture Search is an application for Google’s own Android operating system. This application allows the user to quickly find a contact, a bookmark, an application, or a music track by simply drawing gestures on the device’s touch screen (hence the name Gesture Search). If we had to select tow adjectives to describe Gesture Search, then we would have to go with “fun” and “fast”.
Google Labs announced that it updated the Gesture Search app to version 1.2. The latest version comes with a new motion gesture that Google calls “double flip”.

Research Scientist on the Gesture Search team, Yang Li, explains: “We’re happy to announce a new version, Gesture Search 1.2, which includes a new motion gesture. By doing a “double flip”, or flipping your phone away and then back, you can start Gesture Search at any time. This eliminates the need to activate Gesture Search from a home screen shortcut. You can turn the feature on or adjust its sensitivity in Settings.”
Gesture Search 1.2 can be used by Android 1.6 and above-powered devices. The application is available for download in the Android Market, so if you want to get it just take out your Android-powered device -> go to “Market” -> select “Search” -> type “Gesture Search” in the search field -> install the app once you find it.
If you don’t want to do all that to get the app, there is a simpler way. Take out your device -> open “Barcode Scanner” -> scan the QR code below -> install Gesture Search.
