When the good people at Grooveshark (an internationally available online music search engine, music streaming service and music recommendation web software application - the Wikipedia explanation, for those of you who are not familiar with Grooveshark) first came up with an iPhone app, they submitted it to the App Store, naturally. Unfortunately Apple did not welcome the app into the App Store. Grooveshark did not take it lying down and did the next best thing – they released the app via Cydia to jailbroken iPhones.

Here comes the good news. Grooveshark went through all the necessary hoops and finally had the app accepted in the App Store. Grooveshark for iPhone is now officially available for download in the App Store.
“We’ve been working laboriously on this app for a long time, and we are really excited to announce what we honestly feel to be one of the best mobile music apps in the market. Grooveshark for iPhone gives you access to your playlists, Favorites, search and play any song as well as nifty extras like Offline Caching (for Airplane Mode),” said a Grooveshark announcement.
If you would like to get the app, which is offered free of charge by the way, here is the App Store link. You don’t have to pay to get the app, but you have to pay to use it. You can use Grooveshark for iPhone free of charge for a trial period of 30 days – once that trial period is over you’ll have to sign up for a VIP account if you want to have unlimited access to all its features. A VIP account will set you back just $3 per month, or $30 per year. It is a small price to pay considering that you have access to Grooveshark's massive library, you can create playlists, and download songs for offline play. Again, here's the App Store link for the Grooveshark iPhone app.
