Halloween Special: 3D Desktop Zombies Screensaver, Loktar Zombie ScreenSaver
Halloween gives you the chance to dress up in a spooky, ghoulish costume that you could not wear on other occasions. It gives you the chance to decorate your house with things you would normally only see in a horror movie. And it gives you the chance to try out a spooky screensaver for your desktop.

I wanted to draw your attention to two screensavers that you could try out this Halloween:
- The Robert D. Bennett-developed 3D Desktop Zombies Screensaver
- And the Loktar-developed Zombie Screensaver.

You can find the 3D Desktop Zombies Screensaver on the Robert Bennett-maintained Useless Creations website (you will also find a few other screensavers on the site). If you want a direct download link, then you need to click here (Windows) or here (Mac OS X). Tried the screensaver out on a Windows XP and on a Windows 7-powered computer and it worked without a hitch.

3D Desktop Zombies Screensaver, as its name so adequately points out, displays zombies running around on your desktop. The application can get the zombies to run on screenshot of your desktop, on the image of your wallpaper, or on a random image (pulled from a directory that you specify). From the screensaver’s settings you can select the gore level, adjust the zombie size, set the amount of footprints the zombies leave, and adjust the number of zombies (but only if you register). Speaking of which, besides not being able to adjust the number of zombies, you will also have to contend with a small Useless Creations logo if you don’t register.

If you want a zombified screensaver that doesn’t cost a thing, then try out Loktar’s Zombie ScreenSaver (direct download link here). This freeware screensaver puts a bunch of slow-moving zombies on your desktop. From the screensaver’s settings you can adjust the number of zombies, the zombie size, and zombie speed.

Please note that the graphics for both screensavers are not exactly mind-blowing; they are good enough for a screensaver though. If know other, better looking zombie screensavers, use the comments section below and let everyone know about them.
