Have a Disk Defragmenting Utility Run as Your Screensaver
As the old saying goes, to 'err is human'. I would like to point out that to forget is human as well. Take defragmenting for example, a task you must do from time to time to ensure your computer runs smoothly. You may forget to run the defragmenter today, forget to run it tomorrow, and forget to run it three days from now. That’s why developers added a scheduler to their defragmenting tools, to take you, the forgetful user out of the picture.

There is an interesting way of running a defragmenting utility though – as a screensaver. You know how when your computer goes idle, the screensaver kicks in, and starts to displays all sorts of things? The Christmas Yard screensaver for example displays some interesting Christmassy animations for example.

Imagine this situation if you will: instead of a screensaver kicking in when your computer is idle, a defragmenting utility kicks in and takes care of your fragmentation problems. This is the sort of functionality the Auslogics Software-developed application, the aptly named Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver has to offer.

While you are in the lunch room talking to Bob from accounting, your computer is doing nothing. Why not use this time to defragment the hard drive?

“Like other screensavers in Windows, it starts automatically when a system has been idle for a few moments,” explained Auslogics Software, a privately owned company that specializes in the development of computer maintenance and optimization software for Microsoft Windows. “In fact, it is a great time to run a defragmenter, as its impact on system resources won't disturb your work at all. Furthermore, due to its ability to run automatically, Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver doesn't require any user interaction.”

It will only take a moment to get Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver off the web and onto your computer since the download weighs in at a mere 1.9MB. At such a lightweight download size, the download will complete in no time at all, even if you have to contend with a less than spectacular internet connection. Installing the application on your Windows-powered PC will take little time as well. You can install Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver on top of several Windows versions, including XP, Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions). Once Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver is up and running you can use it free of charge for as long as you want.

Don’t think you’re missing out in the looks department. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I found the animation displayed by Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver to be fascinating. Try the application out and see for yourself.
