Sergey V Mikhailov, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tyunet hosting provider, found a worthwhile project into which to invest money. The CEO sponsored a unique Tyumen Linux user community project – the creation of a monument that features Linux mascot Tux.
The monument, as you can see from the image presented below, features Tux with eagle wings strapped on his back. Penguins can't fly, you know, so to soar into the blue sky, Tux needs some help. The eagle wings, according to the Tyumen Linux user community, are meant to symbolize the operating system’s strength and unlimited possibilities. Credit: Vlad Lazarenko.

“Who said that penguins can’t fly? Here is an example! A small bird has made things, that were not given to it by the mother nature, by itself – wings. We wanted to somehow help Tux to become more popular and we finally ended up with this project,” commented Tyunet CEO Sergey V Mikhailov.

Come September 30, the Release Candidate of Ubuntu 10.10 will be rolled out. Come October 10 and the final version of Ubuntu 10.10 will be released.
