deviantART, the online community that showcases various forms of user-made artwork, has recently announced the launch of an app that, unsurprisingly, allows you to draw. Called Muro, this HTML5 powered app is offered free of charge to anyone out there who would like to give it a try – to use some brushes you have to log in and buy them though.
If you have an internet connected computer you can give DeviantArt’s Muro app a try. You don’t have to download anything – all the painting is done in the browser. Here is what you can expect to get from the app:

- A grand total of 21 brushes. As previously mentioned, not all of them are free. The app is free to use, but some brushes cost money. - You don’t have to download anything, you get to paint directly in the browser window. You can paint from any HTML5-enabled browser. - The app’s layout is intuitive. - The app comes with a Basic and a Pro mode. Both these modes are offered free of charge. The Basic mode is meant for beginner artists while the Pro mode is meant for experienced artists. - The drawing you come up with can be submitted directly to the user’s deviantART gallery. - Share drawings in a public forum if you so desire. - Start private threads in your group’s Admin Area and enjoy picture comments. Groups can choose to allow drawing enabled comments in the Private Discussion Forum of their Admin Area.
“From start to finish, deviantART Muro allows users to create complete works of art in ways never before realized by digital drawing programs. deviantART Muro already boosts standard and interactive brushes, full-blown layer capabilities, and the ability to upload directly to your deviantART account, but we’ve also left room for expansion. You can expect to see many features and functions added in the coming weeks and months,” explained deviantART. To get started with deviantART Muro, you need only click here. To see what others have come up with using the app, a gallery is available here.
