Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android Is Out
Opera Software, the Norwegian software developer we all know for being behind the Opera web browser, has today announced the release of Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android. As Opera Software explained, the browser is meant to give Android users a new choice – they can stick with the browser the Google-developed Android operating system offers, they can use Firefox 4 Beta for Android, they can use Opera Mini 5.1 for Android, or they can switch to Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android.

If users decide to switch to Opera Software’s browser, they will get the following:
- Fast loading times thanks to the speedy Opera Presto rendering engine
- Opera Turbo, a feature that routes traffic through Opera servers, compressing data by up to 80% and thus providing faster browsing speeds on slow or congested networks.

- Speed Dial, feature that allows you to easily and rapidly access your favorite sites
- Fluid panning, scrolling and smooth zooming experience
- Visual tabs for seamless tab management
- Password Manager
- Use Opera Link to sync bookmarks across devices
- Geolocation is supported
- SVG is supported
- Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android can be set as the default web browser on the Android-powered device.

“Android users now have a better choice when it comes to using a browser on their mobile devices,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “With Opera’s new browser for Android, we give users the opportunity to access the Web, using the best tools available.”

If you have an Android-powered device and would like to get Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android, you can grab it from the Android Market or you can Use your phone’s default Web browser to visit the address m.opera.com/next. If you would like to download the browser to your PC, click this link.
