Picasa 3.6 for Mac Gets Enhanced Language Support
About a year after its initial launch, Picasa for Mac has reached version 3.6. The development process of Google’s photo management software application is moving along at a steady pace. Version 3.6 follows in the footsteps of Picasa 3.5 for Mac – version that deserves mentioning because it finally matched the functionality provided by the Windows version of Picasa.

Released now too long ago, Picasa for Mac v. 3.6 marks another important milestone in the development process of this application: version 3.6 comes with enhanced language support. To be more precise, Picasa 3.6 for Mac now provides support for a total of 35 languages .

“We launched Picasa for Mac in Google Labs just over a year ago, and it's grown up fast. With the 3.5 launch, Picasa for Mac matched the features of Picasa for PC, and today we're excited to announce the next milestone: Picasa for Mac is now available in 35 languages. For the first time, Mac users who speak languages other than English can take advantage of Picasa's free photo-editing and organization tools, plus lots of new stuff that's been added recently,” commented Software Engineer David Catmull.

Picasa 3.6 for Mac provides support for the following languages:
  • Bulgarian
  • Catalan, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Croatian, Czech
  • Danish, Dutch
  • English (UK and US)
  • Filipino, French, Finnish
  • German, Greek
  • Hindi, Hungarian
  • Indonesian, Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Latvian, Lithuanian
  • Norwegian
  • Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal)
  • Romanian, Russian
  • Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Serbian
  • Thai, Turkish
  • Ukrainian
  • Vietnamese

To use Picasa for Mac in any of the languages presented above, you need to download Picasa for Mac version 3.6 –you can grab it straight from Google here. The first time you load Picasa, it will display the same language as your operating system (if your operating system is set to English, Picasa will display English). To change the language you need to click Tools -> Options -> click the General tab -> select a language -> OK -> Yes -> close and restart Picasa.
