Public Beta Version of Trillian 5.0 Available for Download
At the start of July Cerulean Studios, the developer behind the popular multiprotocol instant messaging application Trillian, was announcing that a Beta version of Trillian 5.0 would be released to the public in the “coming weeks”. It is now the start of August and we are pleased to announce that Trillian 5.0 Beta has been rolled out to the public as promised.

“Trillian 5 represents an incredible overhaul of Trillian’s usability and user interface and the furthering of our quest to provide interoperability between everyone, everywhere. With Trillian 5 you are in full control of your social and IM worlds like never before!” said Cerulean Studios.

If you would like to learn more about Trillian 5.0 and download a Beta version to put to the test, you need only click here.

Here is what you can expect to get from Trillian 5.0 once it graduates out of Beta:
- Trillian 5.0’s interface is designed to integrate with the latest version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, Windows 7.
- Trillian 5.0 comes with a fully synchronized chat history. Your contact list, accounts, and chat history will always be synchronized between your desktops and phones. Please note that this feature is not available in the Beta version of Trillian 5.0 that is currently available for download. Cerulean Studios said the feature “will be unveiled in a future beta build of Trillian 5”.
- Proper support for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Foursquare plug-in.
- Easily switch from the full to the compact user interface (great for when you have to use a small netbook).
- A new black theme.

Now that Trillian 5.0 Beta is out, we are eagerly awaiting the release of another Beta version, mainly Trillian for Android. Cerulean Studios announced back in July that a Beta version will be rolled out “only a few weeks away.”
