Third Doodle 4 Google Competition Launched
The third edition of the Doodle 4 Google competition has been launched by the Mountain View-based search engine giant. Any K-12 student in the US of A can take part in the competition. All they have to do is come up with a doodle inspired by the theme “If I Could Do Anything, I Would…”

“We're excited to announce our third annual Doodle 4 Google contest in the U.S. Google doodles, created by our talented team of doodlers, have helped us celebrate events and anniversaries from Van Gogh's birthday to Valentine's Day. And since 2008, Doodle 4 Google has given K-12 kids the opportunity to create their own logo and have it displayed on the Google homepage for hundreds of millions of users to enjoy for a day,” announced VP Search Products & User Experience, Marissa Mayer.

The wining doodle will be featured on Google’s homepage on the 27th of May, the current year. But the prizes do not stop there. Here is the other stuff the winner of the Google 4 Doodle competition will win: A T-shirt sporting the winning doodle, a Wacom digital design tablet, a laptop computer, a $25,000 technology grant for the winner’s school, and a $15,000 college scholarship. If the t-Shirt prize left you understandably unimpressed, I bet you’re paying attention now that you’ve realized there’s a 15 grand prize to be won.

Here are some additional details about the competition that Google provided: “All schools in the U.S. (including private schools and homeschools) that register will have the chance to participate. Students' doodles will be judged on artistic merit, creativity, representation of the theme, and other criteria. A panel of Google employees will select the 400 State Finalists, and the Expert Jurors will select the top 40 Regional Finalists. Finally, the public will help select the four national finalists. The one National Winner will be selected by Google executives and will be announced at an event held in the Google New York office on May 26, 2010.”
