Two Free Screensavers to Decorate Your Desktop this Christmas
I would like to draw your attention to two free Windows screensavers offered by WallpaperScreensavers.net, screensavers that you could use to decorate your PC now that Christmas is only a few days away. The first screensaver I would like to focus on is called Christmas Screensaver. Weighing in at 4.9MB, this screensaver is a collection of various Christmassy images, like images of Santa, images of Christmas Trees, and various snow-covered landscapes.

The second screensaver I would like to focus on is called Disney Christmas Screensaver. This is a collection of Christmassy images your child might enjoy since the images feature Winnie the Pooh, and Mickey Mouse, and Donald Duck, and other famous Disney toons. This screensaver weighs in at 4.5MB.

Both these applications are simple slideshow screensavers. They display an image for a while, then move to another image, display that one for a while, then move to another image. Various transition effects are used when moving from one image to another. The screensavers do not play music in the background, do not display animations – they only display some nice looking Christmassy images.

There are a few settings you can play with. You can adjust the amount of time an image is displayed, the length of the transition effects, you can select which transition effects the screensaver uses, you can select the order in which the images are displayed, and you can select under which conditions the screensaver exits. You can for example set it so the screensaver does not exit unless you press ESC.

I mentioned above that these two screensavers are freeware. For using these two screensavers you will not pay with money; you will pay by doing a bit of cleaning up after the installation process completes. These two screensavers, just like many other screensavers offered by WallpaperScreensavers.net, create desktop shortcuts without asking and change Internet Explorer’s home page. No matter what browser you have as default (I have Firefox), the screensavers will change IE’s homepage - not your default browser's homepage.

There’s yet another nuisance you should know about. When the installation process completes, IE will launch and you will be directed to the dwalls.org site.

If you still feel like getting Christmas Screensaver, you can download it here.
