Upcoming Update to Fix iPad's WiFi Connectivity Issues
The iPad has to be the hottest item one could get these days. Just to put things in perspective, Apple sold more than 1 million iPads in just 28 days after the device was released to the public. Just because it is hot and new and powerful doesn’t mean it is perfect. Cupertino-based software developer Apple has confirmed that some users are experiencing WiFi connectivity issues. To fix these issues Apple will release an update soon.

“A very small number of iPad users have experienced issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. Apple will address Wi-Fi connectivity issues with a future iPad software update,” said Apple.

In the meanwhile, if you are experiencing WiFi connectivity issues, Apple advises you to try the following:

Update the WiFi router’s firmware
Verify that your WiFi router firmware is up-to-date. If it is not, update it.

Switch from WEP to WPA or WPA2
Check the wireless security option of your WiFi router. If it uses WEP, switch to WPA or WPA2. The problem here is that WEP wireless security may cause intermittent disconnects to iPad which requires re-typing a password; by simply switching to WPA or WPA2 this problem is easily addressed. There is one more reason why switching to WPA or WPA2 is a good idea – the encryption protocols are newer and safer.

Renew the IP address
Try renewing your IP address, especially if you are on a larger wireless network. This is a simple enough process. Simply tap “Settings -> WiFi -> locate the network you’re on and tap the icon that looks like an arrow pointing to the right -> tap “Renew Lease”.

Adjust the device’s brightness

According to Apple, if the brightness is at the lowest level, you should increase the brightness level. To do this, go to “Settings” -> Brightness & Wallpaper -> move the slider to the right. You should turn off auto brightness.

If you tried all the bits presented above and you still have problems, you should contact Apple.
