Use the Native Google Translate App on Your iPhone
It may not offer the most accurate translations, but when you need to make heads or tails of a text written in a foreign language, you can use Google Translate. When you are on the go, you can use the Google Translate app on your iPhone.

Since August 2008, Mountain View-based search engine giant has been offering a Google Translate web app to meet the translation needs of iPhone users. A web app is nice and all, but a native app is always better. As of this month there is a native Google Translate app for iPhone. You can get it from the App Store whenever you want to. The app is offered free of charge of course.

But before you go get the Google Translate app, perhaps you would like to know what it has to offer. Here are the main highlights:

Extensive Language Support – the application provides support for 57 languages. This means you can translate words and phrases between more than 50 languages with the app. These languages: Afrikaans, Albanian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Arabic, Basque, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, Galician, Georgian, German, Greek, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Irish, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Maltese, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Welsh, Yiddish.

Speak-to-Translate – instead of typing a word or phrase, you can speak it out. The app will recognize what you said, then translate what you said.

Listen to Translations – above I told you that you can speak and Google Translate will recognize what you said. The application can also speak out a translated word or phrase.

Easy access to your translations – you can star your favorite translations for quick access, even offline access.

Full-screen mode – you can easily enlarge the translated text to full-screen size.

If you would like to get the Google Translate app, here’s the App Store link again.
