The latest version of Vuze, the BitTorrent client that some of you might remember from back in the day when it was called Azureus, is version 4.5. Vuze 4.5 was released earlier this month and the great thing about this release is that it comes with support for numerous Android-powered devices. The following Android-powered devices to be more precise:
HTC Desire
HTC Evo
HTC Hero
HTC Incredible
HTC Magic
HTC Wildfire
Motorola Cliq
Motorola Droid
Motorola Droid X
Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S)
As the Vuze development team explained, this is only the beginning. For now Vuze 4.5 supports the Android-powered devices presented above. More devices will be added to that list in the future.
Vuze 4.5 also shows the iPhone 4 some love. “In addition to the new burst of Android support, we’re also launching support for the iPhone 4 with 960 x 640 video resolution, so you can take full advantage of your gorgeous new Retina screen. Tired of hearing about the death grip and AntennaGate? Simply drag-and-drop to the iTunes icon in Vuze (bypassing the antenna altogether) and watch HD video on your iPhone 4,” explained Vuze.

What about speed? Does Vuze version 4.5 has anything to offer in this regard? As the Vuze development team explained, version 4.5 is the fastest Vuze version to date. Vuze 4.5 comes with several behind-the-scenes speed improvements and a new speed test that will automatically optimize your Vuze settings for your network. This speed test ensures that Vuze adapts to your network and delivers the fastest download speed possible over your internet connection – and it launches automatically when you fire up Vuze 4.5.
