Last week Yahoo! rolled out a brand new Yahoo! Mail Beta, a new version that is faster, cleaner and safer than previous Yahoo! Mail versions. With more than 281 million Yahoo! Mail users out there, you can imagine there were quite a few Yahoo! Mail Beta testers who provided feedback. Yahoo! listened to that feedback and responded accordingly.
“Since we launched Yahoo! Mail Beta a week ago, I’ve been reading your feedback. I’m thrilled to hear your passion for the new product. Your comments have helped us identify what we need to fix in the short-term and how we should evolve Yahoo! Mail in the long-term. On behalf of the Yahoo! Mail team, thank you,” said Senior Director of Product Management with Yahoo! Mail, David McDowell.

McDowell went on to say that based on user feedback, the following Yahoo! Mail Beta changes have or will be implemented:
Unread messages An update has been released and now the unread messages count includes unread messages in the Trash and Spam folders.
Browser support Chrome 6 and Internet Explorer 9 users will be able to use Yahoo! Mail Beta as access to the service will no longer be blocked for these browsers. Yahoo! Mail Beta already provides support for IE8, Firefox 3.X, Safari 4 and 5; support for various other browsers will be added in the future.
Calendar A link to Calendar will be added, as requested by numerous Yahoo! Mail Beta users.
User interface If purple is not to your liking, several color options and themes will become available in the near future. If you want more room to read and compose messages, the UI will be tweaked and will provide more options so you have more room. Expect this change to be rolled out in the “next few months.”
“Keep sending us your comments and suggestions. We need your help to make Yahoo! Mail even better,” added David McDowell.
